Parker is 4!

Parker is 4!

Today is all about a little girl named Parker.

Last week Parker celebrated her fourth birthday.  Wait – isn’t this my little girl?

Or this?

When did she get so big?  Sniff sniff.

A few weeks back, Parker’s Unicorn Birthday Party was a huge hit despite some of the craziest thunderstorms of the season raining down on us right in the middle of it.  I can’t wait to tell you all about it soon.  I found so many cute unicorn party favors, snack ideas, decorations, gifts, cake and cupcake tricks and more.  You’ll want to read the post if you have a unicorn-loving kiddo in your house.

Before I post about the party next week, though, can I just boast a little bit about this sweet girl?

First, she is our cuddle bug.

Just this morning she came up to me while I was rinsing dishes at the sink and she asked “can you come cuddle with me on the couch?”  Yes, sweet girl.  I would love to.  She loves her family and friends so much.

Poor Foster is sweet enough not to push her off … yet.

Her loving nature still just blows me away sometimes.  And speaking of mornings, she is her family’s morning person.  We can hear her steps on the stairs each morning then a “good morning mommy!  can you make me breakfast?”  It takes Foster a good twenty minutes to get out of his groggy state.

Although she is the second child, this girl was born to lead.  Some might call it bossy … okay I call it bossy quite often.  But, this girl takes charge!

I think she developed these skills because she was an excellent little communicator at a very young age.  When she was in class last year, she was one of the only ones who could talk so she just spoke for all of them!  Now there’s no stopping her.

Speaking of being excellent at things … Parker is our name girl.

I am terrible with names.  My husband isn’t great with names and Foster follows after the two of us unfortunately.  Not Parker though.  We no joke ask her ALL. THE. TIME. what people’s names are when we can’t remember.  She can hear a name once and recite it weeks later.

One more thing I must mention is that this girl is super smart.  I might be a little biased 😉 but she is just so bright.

And she’s so bright in a completely different way from Foster.  I love that they each have such different brains!  She is into crafts and art.  She enjoys playing dress-up and acting out various scenes.

Finally, she just worships the ground her brother walks on.

If you see Foster sitting a certain way, look at Parker and she’ll be sitting that way.  If you see Foster jump off a high ledge, just wait for it.  If Foster learns a new slang word, you’ll hear Parker throwing it out there soon.

I’ve mentioned this before, but they truly love each other so much.  My heart melts almost every day just watching them together.  As Parker often says, they are “best buddies.”

Every year I try to interview my kids near their birthday, and the answers are truly some of the best keepsakes I’ll cherish forever.  I also record them now on video and that’s entertaining as well.  I posted on Foster’s birthday too.  Here are Parker’s answers from her interview this week.
