Friday Favorites with Four Points Mom (9-22-2017)

Friday Favorites with Four Points Mom (9-22-2017)

It’s Friday!  This week flew by and I think it’s because we’re finally back in our family household groove.  Many of you shared last week that you were struggling getting into the hang of things this school year, so I hope you’re all settling in nicely as well.

It’s a special Friday Favorites for me today.  First, today marks the FIRST DAY OF FALL!!!  Fall is my favorite season.  When I think of fall, I imagine my then-family-of-three family (with Parker in my belly) in the colorful Wisconsin leaves.

Fall in Wisconsin

Aren’t the colors amazing?

Foster in leaves

However, the first day of fall in Texas typically looks more like this.

Parker poolside

We’re still hangin’ poolside.

And this describes me … STILL.

It’s fall.  I shouldn’t still sweat when I walk outside.  But, let’s get to the fun stuff from the week.

CASA Superhero Run

CASA Superhero RUn

I’ve been talking about the CASA Superhero Run for months now, so I was super excited to finally go out and support one of my favorite non-profits this past weekend.  If you don’t know much about CASA, you should click here to learn about the great work they do for children in the foster care system.

The morning of the race was a bit rough for us because we were up until nearly midnight (with the kids … yeah we’re horrible parents) watching the UT football game the night before.  Can you tell they were exhausted for their early morning wake-up call?

But once we were at the race, it was worth it.  This was Foster’s first race to “run” in.  He literally sprinted most of the 1k family fun run!

Foster was in it to win it!

He couldn’t understand why everyone wouldn’t just get out of his way!  And look how proud he was when he crossed the finish line!

The costumes made it so much fun for the family.  Our friends, the Blauts, let us borrow costumes for all of us.  Thanks Blauts!  And thank you Koester for letting us borrow your stroller.  (We got rid of our double stroller and have regretted it several times … word to the wise, hang on to yours until all children can walk long distances).

After the race, we spent some time checking out the vendors, bounce houses, and obstacle course.

Foster was very serious about this obstacle course!

I have a feeling the CASA Superhero Run will be an annual family event for us.  So much fun!

Just Call Me Soccer Mom

This past week I officially became a soccer mom.  How do I feel about that.  Old?  Yep.  I kid, I kid.  Foster’s really getting into it which is fun.

Okay, let’s be honest.  His favorite part of soccer was the 10 donut holes he inhaled afterwards.

His first game is tomorrow, and he CANNOT WAIT because it’s also …

Foster’s Fifth Birthday

I’ll do a special post all about my almost five-year-old next week, but my heart almost can’t handle it.  Where did the past five years go?  He’ll start kindergarten in less than a year and before I know it he’ll be graduating high school.  Sigh …

Chick-Fil-A Mom

One of my absolute favorite moments of this past week was when I found out I was selected to join the Chick-Fil-A Mom Panel.

YAY!  I heard about this exclusive group last year and applied with my fingers crossed that they’d let me in.  And they did!  I think all of you for helping make the Four Points Mom community stand out enough to get selected into this somewhat exclusive group.  As a member I’ll be one of the first to hear about upcoming events and specials, and I’m going to keep you in the know as well.  So, if you’re like me and love Chick-Fil-A, stay tuned!

Nordstrom Triple Points Weekend

Before I leave you for the weekend, I just want to point out that if you’re a Nordstrom cardholder don’t forget to take advantage of triple points weekend online and in stores this weekend (through Sunday, September 24th).  This is a great time to stock up on your beauty favorites (for example, I’m almost out of my Philosophy facial moisturizer and Perfect Hair Day dry shampoo).  I stopped by yesterday to hopefully find one dress for the Partnerships for Children Girls and Giving event next week, and ended up with these three …

Which one do you guys like the most?  I usually wear just black so I wanted to change things up a bit.  And I love that the Charles Henry One-Shoulder Ruffle Dress is only $52.80 and the Eliza J Dress is only $76.80.  But, the Chelsea28 blue dress is SO pretty and I typically pick blue over other colors.  Help me!

Alright, that’s it from me today.  Don’t forget to comment with your suggestions about my dress dilemma!  Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
