Friday Favorites with Four Points Mom – Shipt Edition (2-23-18)

Another week has flown by and here in Austin many of us moms are running out of creative ideas to engage our children’s minds while it rains non-stop.  At least kids love wearing rainbows and rain jackets!

But, I am excited because today’s Friday Favorites post is a bit different.  Most of you probably know I LOVE Shipt.  Back in August, I declared Shipt the winner of my weeklong series reviewing grocery-delivery and curbside pickup services (start the series here).

Since I signed up for the Shipt annual membership, I’ve ordered through Shipt 14 times and I’m still in love with Shipt.  In today’s post, I’m giving you …

5 reasons why Shipt deserves its own Friday Favorites

Shipt delivers Target now!

Yes, you might say that all of my wildest dreams have come true.  In my August 11, 2017 post, I even said this:

Hey Shipt, add Target to your list of stores and you’ll make me the happiest girl in the world.

Well, I’d love to be self-centered and pretend they listened to me, but I’m pretty sure the fact that they were bought out by Target at the end of 2017 kinda helped them fulfill my dreams.  I’ll take it though.

I used Shipt to deliver Target when I was stuck at home most of last week with a sick kiddo.  When I logged in I now had the option to decide which store I’d like to order from.

The entire process was as streamlined as what I’ve grown to expect from H-E-B deliveries.   Based on my quick research when making my order, it seems like you can pretty much order everything except clothing via Shipt.  For example, I needed a mop and look at the options given on just the first screen of search results for mop:

I quickly compared the prices provided on Shipt to the prices on the Target website.  OMG – the prices on Shipt are the same as directly through Target (and in one case even cheaper on Shipt).

You’ll see that some Target prices are marked with an asterisk.  That’s because Target doesn’t provide prices for these items online and instead the website says “see store for price.”  These were all frozen items.  As I write this post I’m also laughing at what I purchased that day.  Can you tell I was a bit stir-crazy with sick kiddos who wouldn’t eat anything.  Dinosaur Oatmeal?  Let’s see if they’ll eat it.  Eggo waffles and pancakes?  Why not.  And the mop to help me disinfect everything – ha ha.

FYI – I just want to point out that you do have to make two separate orders if ordering from Target and H-E-B at the same time.  I did it last week and it was really easy to switch back and forth between the stores.  However, I just want to point that out.

The Outstanding Shipt Shoppers!

I’ve had 14 deliveries and I believe I’ve rated each shopper 5 out of 5 stars.  And I’m usually brutally honest when it comes to reviews.  I assume Shipt has a thorough screening and/or training process because I’m always impressed.

I LOVE that when you order from Shipt you have one person who shops for you and then that same person delivers to you.  When I used to order from Instacart I would typically receive a text message from my shopper and then somebody else would deliver.  There was no way for me to split my tip which I sometimes wanted to do because of the great (or sometimes not-so-great) service by one of those individuals.  Instead, my Shipt shopper typically texts me when they start shopping, texts me anytime they need clarification or inquire about a necessary substitution, and they often give me a “last call” to let me know they’re about to check out in case I’d like to add something.  Amazing!

The Buy Again Category on Shipt’s Website

It took a few orders before I truly could find my way around Shipt‘s website seamlessly.  Back when I initially reviewed Shipt, the website was actually a negative aspect of the service to me.  However, now I can breezily sign in and go through my grocery and household list in no time.  A big part of that reason is Shipt’s Buy Again Category.

I can log in, click category, then click buy again and I see everything I’ve recently purchased.  This is super helpful, especially since I buy several things every week without fail.  Of course, you can go to the home page and do a broad search for any item but it’s really easy to just go down this screen and click “add” on the several items I want to order again.

Last-Minute Birthday Gifts Are a Breeze!

Did I mention I’m excited Shipt now delivers from Target?  🙂

I’m a huge fan of Amazon Prime’s 2-Day Shipping.  However, I’ve found that the prices and availability of one-day and same day items on Amazon is quite limited.  Instead, I can now easily pull up toys that Shipt will deliver to me from Target in a manner of hours.

And, again, these prices are the same as in the store!

Try Shipt For Free For Two Weeks!

You can try out Shipt’s grocery-delivery service FREE for two weeks!  This is how I first used Shipt and I knew it was worth the money so I kept my membership with no regrets.

I highly recommend you try out Shipt because I’m pretty confident you’ll think it’s worth the money and want to keep the subscription. If not, you just login at the end of your two-week trial period and cancel it.  Super easy.

If you’re wanting to learn more about grocery-delivery services, head over to my series of posts on the topic which can be found here.

I’d love to hear from you guys in the comments below.  Have you tried Shipt or another grocery delivery-service?  Do you have questions for me?
