Friday Favorites with Four Points Mom & Tiff’s Treats (12-1-2017)

Happy Friday!  Today will be a short post because the hubby and I are off to Cabo tomorrow morning and I am not even close to being ready to leave the house and kiddos for several days.  Okay okay, I’ll stop whining about all of my #firstworldproblems.

For those of you who didn’t win anything this month, don’t worry.  Although November was special in that I had an amazing giveaway every single post, I hope to have a few giveaways every month moving forward.  I already have a few lined up in the coming weeks so be sure to check back in and see if you can be a lucky winner!

Also, if you are a local business owner and want to promote your products and/or services to other moms in the community, reach out to me to learn more about a potential collaboration with Four Points Mom.

Decorating Our First 360 Tree

This year we finally got our act together and decorated a tree on 360.  In case you’re unfamiliar with this “weird” Austin tradition, let me fill you in.  Every year around Christmas time hundreds (and maybe even over a thousand?) of trees along Loop 360 in West Austin are decorated by the people of Austin.

We’ve wanted to do one of our own for a couple years, but life kept getting in the way.  Earlier this week my husband had a weird schedule at work and we last-minute realized it was the perfect afternoon to decorate a tree after picking the kids up from school.  So, I somehow managed a 10-minute stop at Target on the way to pick the kids up at school (this could have easily been a record for me since I usually roam the aisles and end up with a basket of things I didn’t intend on purchasing).

We wanted a tree that we would drive by regularly throughout the month, so we chose one between our house and Jarrod’s work and the kids’ school.

And did I mention that my husband wanted it on a cliff?  Here we are hiking up to the top.

And there’s the Dale Family Tree, complete with cheap tinsel garland and paper plates decorated by the kids.  🙂

And here we are with the bridge in the view behind us.

Let me clarify that the kids didn’t even get to really decorate it because I was scared to death of them falling off the cliff (which actually doesn’t look that close to the tree in the photo, but it was).  At least the hubby had fun dangling off the edge  … lol.

Ho Ho The Elf Returned

Alright, I have to admit I’m one of the suckers who totally fell into the Elf on the Shelf trap.  But, I want to clarify that I only have a couple “pinterest-worthy” Elf on the Shelf days.  Most days he just gets thrown into a new position when I hear a kid on the stairs in the morning.  “Oh look, Ho Ho decided to randomly hang out on the kitchen counter today …”

Ho Ho usually shows up at our house on December 1st, but this year he showed up a day early so we could have two days with him before us parents left for our trip.  Yesterday morning he showed up with new Christmas PJs (which I snagged in the Target Black Friday sale), the Trolls Holiday Movie,  popcorn, and a letter telling them we’re kicking off the season with a movie night in our PJs.

Look at those smiles.  I’ve also bought a few Christmas books that Ho Ho will introduce as the month goes on.  Even better – the kids’ Gigi gets to come up with ideas all next week for them.  😉

Alright, that’s it for me today.  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I’ll be back next week with a new giveaway and some random life stuff.

Adios amigas!

Yeah, I’m totally ready for Mexico …
