Trick-or-Treating
It rained off and on all day and night on us here in Austin, but that didn’t stop this crew.
If you read my post on Seattle a few weeks ago, you know that Foster was born there and my husband and I spent four years there in the daily drizzling rain. While everyone else ran home once the rain started, we inherited the mother load of candy in our neighborhood.
And can I just tell you how much I love this group of friends?
My friend, Kari, rocked her baby costume. I wish I had a photo of her with her whole gang because she, her husband, and one son were all babies and her youngest son was dressed in a suit. Get it? Boss Baby. So funny!
Yeah, look all you want in this group photo of the kids but you won’t find mine. At this point I was running around the yards in the culdesac screaming for my kids. Parker was managing to get fed another cupcake by my friend’s mom (the girl knows how to work it) and Foster was upstairs playing with the Hays kiddos’ “new” toys. Yeah, he was the ONLY child not playing outside. #independent #idomyownthing #likefatherlikeson … sigh.
Mother Nature’s Up and Downs
This week the weather has been all over the place. One moment we’re relishing in the cool yet sunny weather, the next we’re sweating up a storm as it’s unexpectedly turned to 90 degrees, and five minutes later we have our winter coats on.
But, this Sunday I enjoyed some “me” time and hiked the trail in our neighborhood.
Yes, can you believe this is less than a 10-minute walk from my front door? Crazy! I love getting out and enjoying nature, and with an audiobook playing in my earbuds, life is pretty good. 🙂
However, with beauty comes this …
Yep, that’s a coral snake. YUCK. It was in this condition when I walked upon it, though, so I managed to avoid a heart attack.
And, speaking of being outside, this guy finally managed to swing by himself.
Woohoo! This is a huge accomplishment in our house because we no longer have to run between two swings pushing both kids.
I also had to throw in this sweet photo of the kids with their older neighbor, London.
He is the sweetest boy and will drive Foster and Parker around the culdesac in his dune buggy’s trailer for half an hour without complaining. Love that boy (and his whole family)!

European Wax Center Giveaway
Today, I’m thrilled to let you know that one lucky reader will receive a $25 gift card to be used at the European Wax Center, located in the Trails of Four Points Shopping Center.
At the European Wax Center, you can choose from various services, including eyebrow waxing, bikini line waxing, underarm and ear waxing. Plus, they have several products to enhance your skin and help your skin recover from treatments.
If you’ve never been before, I really encourage all of you to try it out. I went in last week for an eyebrow wax and they did an amazing job. I hesitate to show you this photo because it’s so blurry, but not only do they wax your brows but they also give you advice on how to enhance your brows.
You can see in the photos that my brows are barely there. But, Lisa at European Wax Center showed me a few tools they happen to sell in their store that can make my brows look natural yet add a bit of a pop. Plus, if you’re like me and not a huge fan of the sting typically associated with waxing, they have you in mind at the European Wax Center. The entire process was quick and not very painful.
