Friday Favorites with Four Points Mom (10-6-17)

We did it again … we survived another week!  I don’t know why I always feel like I should pat myself on the back for doing so.  But I do.  And you should too.  Do it.  I’ll wait.

🙂

Every Friday I talk about some of my favorites from the week and link up with some other amazing women who do the same.  Today’s edition of Friday Favorites is exciting because we have a giveaway winner to announce … yay!  Keep reading to hear who won the Napa Flats giveaway from Wednesday’s post all in which I told you all about one of my favorite new Four Points restaurants.  So, let’s jump right in, shall we?

This week’s favorite accomplishment on Four Points Mom is rolling out the Austin Birthday Party Venue resource page.

If you get the Four Points Mom Weekly Wrap-Up email, then you heard about it there.  (If you don’t, now is a great time to sign up for it!)    The goal of this page is to be the one-stop location for a ton of local spots to host birthday parties.  Each time I’ve planned one of my kids’ parties, I’ve wished I could go to one website that listed great options.  Well, now it exists for all of you!  On this page, I’ve listed details about 13 different venues and my experiences with a variety of birthday spots, including Hop N Happy, The Little Gym, Thinkery, and more.  Plus, I’ll keep adding venues as birthday parties keep taking over my weekend.  (I know you moms feel me …)  Check out this great new resource here!

Speaking of birthdays, did you see my Facebook share about moms you meet at birthday parties?  If not, go there right now and read the article.  I was dying laughing.  The memes and gifs are amazing.

We have Foster’s birthday party this weekend and I can’t wait to categorize all of my mom-friends … ha ha, just kidding.  Some of you will be there so I’m of course not talking about you specifically … 😉  My favorites are the “This is all she did?” mom…

and the “Cruise director” mom.  Which ones made you bust out laughing?

Another favorite of mine this week is that we’re officially into October!  Yay!  On Monday, I posted about all of the great fall festivals, pumpkin patches, and upcoming events for the month.

You might remember that several of the pumpkin patches and fall festivals kick off this weekend.  Elgin CHRISTmas  Tree Farm’s October Fall Fun, for example, opens today!  If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, you should check it out.  Or if you and your kiddos are off on Monday for Columbus Day, that would be a fun half-day activity!

Another one of my favorites this week has been getting my house decorated for fall.  I might have had to sell a child to cover the expenses incurred at Home Goods, Marshalls, and Hobby Lobby … but it was worth it.  I’ll be posting about my fall decor next week because right now I’m also decorating for a dinosaur-themed party.  I’ll post all about that too!  But, in the meantime, I’m super pumped about this pumpkin candy jar that I just put in my bag on Nordstrom.com:

I love having candy corn or fall-themed M&Ms out around the house, but I need to cover them up or else my kids (who suffer from my over-snacking tendencies) ask me for more all day long.  I love this simple pumpkin and its low price!  I looked for one all week and couldn’t find anything, and was thrilled to stumble upon it at Nordstrom.

Also, 1,200 reviews can’t be wrong for this blanket cardigan.

A blanket cardigan?  WHAT?!?  Doesn’t it sound amazing?  I’ve been putting off this purchase but the appeal of its coziness in (hopefully) soon-to-be-arriving cooler weather is too much to resist it anymore!icon

And my absolute favorite part of the week is announcing the winner for Wednesday’s Napa Flats Wood-Fired Kitchen Giveaway!

The winner is ….

Jesse Coulter!

Congratulations Jesse!  Check your email.  🙂

Alright, that’s it for me today everyone.  Wish me luck this weekend as I tend to over-stress unreasonably when hosting parties.  But I also manage to always have a blast.  I can’t wait to share it with you all next week.  Have a great weekend yourself!
