Four Points Mom’s 4 Favorite Late-Summer Camp Options

Four Points Mom’s 4 Favorite Late-Summer Camp Options

Well, one month of summer is officially in the books.  How do you feel about that?

I have some friends whose mantra is “less is more” for the summer and they sign up for just a few weeks of camps.  I have others who practically fill up every week with fun activities, camps, and vacations.  Regardless, though, I think many of us do a great job of planning for June but by the time July and August roll around we are running out of ideas. Or, maybe your house is starting to look like the room in the picture above since your kids have been destroying it all summer.

Full disclosure, here’s what my son did one day when I was enjoying (what I thought was) some peace and quiet during my daughter’s nap time.

That was a fun afternoon …

If you’re in a panic about the rest of the summer, don’t fret because today I’m going to highlight 4 Summer Day Camp programs that will help you beat the middle-of-summer blues.

Don’t forget, you can find even more camp information on the Summer Camps Page within the Four Points Resources section of this website.

With several camp options right down the street at Austin Christian Fellowship, you will likely find a camp that your kids will love.  Snapology offers week-long morning and afternoon camps for a variety of ages and interests.  The program’s goal is to provide a fun and safe environment for children to learn math, science, technology, engineering, art and literacy concepts using LEGO ® bricks and other building tools.  The remaining camps this summer are:

If you need a full day plan, you can sign up your children for both a morning and afternoon session and they can stay between the camps and enjoy a supervised lunch time.  There are also early drop-off and late pick-up add-ons options.

Foodie Kids Summer Camps

If you have a foodie for a child, then they will love a surprise camp week at Foodie Kids.  The camps I’ve listed below are for children ranging between four and a half and eight. But, there are camps and other classes for older kids too.  Check out their website to learn more.

The remaining camp themes for the summer are:

  • Mexican Kitchen Cocina Camp: July 10 – 13 (9 am – 12 pm)
  • Farm to Table Summer Kitchen Camp: July 17 – 20 (9 am – 12 pm)
  • Ice Creams and Desserts from Around the World Camp: July 24 – 27 (9 am – 12 pm)
  • My First French Bakery: July 31 – August 3 (9 am – 12 pm)
  • Foodie Kids @ the American Girl Café Camp: August 7 – 10 (9 am – 12 pm)
  • My First Bake Shop Kitchen Camp: August 14 – 17 (9 am – 12 pm)
  • Classic Italian Kitchen Camp: August 21 – 24 (9 am – 12 pm)

One of my friends has taken her elementary-aged girls there for classes and camps, and she highly recommends it not only for the kids programs but also their adult programs.  Apparently they have wine nights… I just might have to try it out myself!

Jam Camp

Austin Baptist Church is hosting Jam Camp August 7th – 11th.  This half-day camp has a musical twist and ends with an evening performance on Friday, August 11th at 7 pm.  The price is great ($40 per child and $35 per additional child within the same family).  Children have to be 4 by September 1st, 2017 to attend.
